Over 1,700 officials committed corruption crimes last year
On February 16, the Agency for Information and Mass Communications held a briefing on the work done by the prosecuting bodies in 2020.
According to Kun.uz correspondent, in order to support entrepreneurs and eliminate obstacles hindering their activities in 2020, the prosecutor’s office provided assistance to more than 23,000 business people and investors in the allocation of land and buildings, access to communications and licenses and permits.
817 officials were brought to disciplinary and administrative responsibility for violations of the rights of entrepreneurs, 353 illegal documents were protested, 451 lawsuits worth 21.8 billion soums were submitted to the courts, and the rights of 5,206 entrepreneurs were restored.
It is reported that in 2020, 1,723 officials who committed corruption crimes were prosecuted.
Of the 403,019 appeals received by the prosecutor’s office in 2020, 214,610 were considered directly by the prosecuting bodies. According to the results of consideration of appeals, practical assistance was provided in obtaining salaries, pensions, alimony and other payments worth 19.1 billion soums.
In addition, the Prosecutor General’s Office has developed 57 draft laws on the implementation of the right of legislative initiative and adopted 11 of them.
