Government imposes a ban on import of ozone-depleting substances
The National Program to stop the use of ozone-depleting substances has been approved by a relevant resolution of the government of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice reports.
The National Program defines goals and strategic directions to eliminate the use of ozone-depleting substances (ODS). According to the program, the Cabinet of Ministers ensures the implementation of a unified state policy to regulate ODS consumption.
The National Program envisages the followings:
- termination of the import and export of ozone-depleting substances and the establishment of strict control in this area;
- formation of a database on the import and export of ODS and products in which they are present;
- creation of 6 new centers for the processing of ODS.
