Highway leading to Sokh district through Rishtan to open from April 1
Khokim of Fergana region Khayrullo Bozorov said in an interview with a Kun.uz correspondent that during the meeting of the government delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, which took place on March 24-25 in the city of Tashkent, a number of difficult border issues were resolved.
According to him, the highway leading to the Sokh district (exclave) through Rishtan will open on April 1.
With the opening of the road, the distance will be reduced from the current 80 km to 19 km.
The khokim noted that a minibus service will be launched for passengers to travel to the Sokh district.
In accordance with the agreement signed between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, the highway will be repaired by the Uzbek side.
