Deputy dean of Samarkand State University detained for taking $500 in bribe
A 35-year-old deputy dean of the Samarkand State University has been detained while taking $500 in bribe.
Reportedly, he demanded money from a first-year student, promising he would help her pass the mid-term exam in psychology and permit her to attend the final exam. SSS officers together with Samarkand region DIA employees caught the man red-handed when he was receiving the money.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168-3, Paragraph “c” of the Criminal Code (committing fraudulent activities misusing one’s official power). The man is arrested in a procedural order.
