Wastewater workers killed while cleaning the pump of a sewer station in Khorezm

Two wastewater workers died in a sewer well in Khorezm region.

The incident took place on June 26 in the Urgench district on the territory of the Oltin Kul mahalla.

The workers of “Khorazm Suv Taminoti” went down into the well to clean the pump of sewer station No. 1.

“According to preliminary data, they died on the spot from poisoning with toxic gas (hydrogen sulfide),” the official statement said.

It is noted that safety precautions were not followed during the work. The employees also neglected the rules of personal protection.
