Uzbekistan to open 316 mobile polling stations abroad
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, together with the Central Election Commission, held a roundtable on the topic “Ensuring broad participation of citizens of Uzbekistan abroad in elections: legal and regulatory framework, opportunities and mechanisms,” Dunyo IA reported.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Siddikov informed about the systematic and consistent work carried out by the ministry in the process of organizing the upcoming presidential elections on October 24 and ensuring active participation in them of fellow citizens staying abroad.
In particular, in preparation for the presidential elections, it is planned to create 54 polling stations in 38 states at embassies and consular offices, as well as 316 additional mobile polling stations in 128 cities, including in 11 states where there are no diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan.
“Representatives of foreign countries expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in holding this important political event in the life of the people of Uzbekistan and said that all the necessary assistance would be provided in the voting process. At present, diplomatic missions are forming a list of voters abroad,” the deputy minister said.
