President pardons 215 convicts
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on pardoning a group of convicts who sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction.
In accordance with the document, 215 persons have been pardoned.
Of those pardoned, 3 were fully relieved from serving the sentence, 127 were released on parole, 12 of them got a milder sentence and the sentence of 73 convicts was reduced.
Among the pardoned, 69 are foreign nationals, 12 are men over 60 years of age and 14 – are women. 15 of them were convicted for participating in the activities of banned organizations.
The responsible ministries and agencies have been instructed to help the pardoned reintegrate into society, help them engage in social services, promote healthy lifestyles and gain a worthy place in the community they live.
