Police detain a woman who had been on the run for 15 years

A native of Bukhara, who had been hiding from law enforcement officers for 15 years for committing a crime, has been detained at the capital’s airport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the MIA press service, citizen R.S., born in 1977, has been on the wanted list since 2006.

The woman was suspected of committing a crime under Article 135-3 of the Criminal Code (Human trafficking).

In the course of operational and investigative measures by the employees of the regional police department, the woman was detained at the Tashkent airport.

Investigative actions are underway, the ministry said.
