Tashkent city administration to plant 1 million trees in the capital
The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to radically improve the work of beautification and landscaping in Tashkent” was adopted.
“1 million trees” initiative to plant 1 million trees in the city of Tashkent in the autumn of 2021 and spring of 2022 of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent city administration has been approved.
The “Tashkent Park Directorate” in the form of a state unitary enterprise with economic accounting was established under the Tashkent city khokimiyat with the following tasks:
- ensuring the exemplary preservation of existing and new parks, themed alleys, parks, green areas and alleys in Tashkent, organization of timely and quality execution of works in accordance with the normative documents in the field of technical regulation, taking necessary measures for further landscaping and improvement of the service area;
- implementation of necessary organizational and agro-technical work on the maintenance and use of landscaping facilities, care of trees, shrubs, flowers and repair of landscaping facilities;
- ensuring the timely and quality execution of perfect and current repairs, as well as the sanitary and technical condition of artificial irrigation systems, pumping stations, wells, pavements, roads and sidewalks, street lighting and fountains.
