“The cargo is still in Termez. The date of its delivery will depend on the receipt of transportation permits from the Afghan side, and this issue is decided by the UNHCR office in Kabul,” said a spokesman for UNHCR, Sputnik reports.
The source noted that the new UNHCR humanitarian supplies will be transported to Afghanistan via Termez, since this route has been identified jointly with the Uzbek side as an additional transport corridor for delivering aid to the Afghan people.
The Termez logistics center received 96 tons of UNHCR aid in mid-October for Afghanistan, including basic necessities.
The aid will be delivered to Mazar-i-Sharif on trucks through the border checkpoint Termez-Hairatan.
