More than 1 million people emigrated from Uzbekistan in 20 years
Between 2000 and 2020, more than 1 million people emigrated from Uzbekistan. The number of emigrants was 11 times higher than the number of those who immigrated to Uzbekistan.
The State Statistics Committee has provided statistics on migration over a period of 20 years, in response to an inquiry from Kun.uz.
The number of people who immigrated to Uzbekistan from abroad between 2000 and 2020 was 99,341. The largest number of migrants during this period was in 2005 – 7,179 people.
The lowest migration rate was recorded in 2020. 1,105 people immigrated to Uzbekistan during the pandemic.
Statistics show that the number of emigrants from Uzbekistan (1,107,584 people) is 11 times higher than the number of immigrants (99,341 people).
Earlier, it was reported that the permanent population of Uzbekistan has reached 35 million people.
