Uzbekistan to gradually abolish exclusive rights of monopolies

As Norma reports, according to the document, starting from July 1, 2022:

•  gradual sale of state shares in airports, road construction, electricity and heat production, heat supply, sale of petroleum products and other spheres to the private sector;
•  introducing a permit for the private sector to engage in the purchase, processing, sale and preparation of scrap and waste of non-ferrous metals.

The document proposes to approve an action plan for 2022-2026 to widely involve the private sector and abolish the exclusive rights of monopolies. In particular, the plan includes a phased transfer to the private sector through the privatization of state shares, the development of public-private partnerships.

It is planned to develop “roadmaps” aimed at ensuring free access to the activities indicated in the list.
