ADB funds in the amount of $7 million embezzled in Syrdarya region

In the Khavast district, funds in the amount of $7 million, which were allocated by the Asian Development Bank for water supply, were embezzled.

This was announced by the khokim of the Syrdarya region Gofurjon Mirzayev during his address on the end of 2021.

“In the Khavast district of Syrdarya region, funds in the amount of $7 million were embezzled, which were allocated by the Asian Development Bank for water supply. We installed substandard pipes and wells. They do not meet the standards and requirements. This money could provide water for 126,000 people,” he said.
