Gov’t extends VAT exemption for meat and potatoes for another 4 months
The VAT grace period for the import and sale of meat, potatoes and a number of other products is being extended.

Until the end of this year, it was reported that the turnover of meat and meat products, potatoes and frozen fish, as well as their import to the territory of Uzbekistan is exempt from VAT.
According to MP Doniyor Ganiyev, the draft law submitted to the parliament by the government provides for the extension of these benefits for another 4 months.
According to him, until April 30, 2022, the followings will be exempt from VAT:
- import of vegetable oil, sunflower and flax seeds, as well as soybeans into the territory of Uzbekistan;
- turnover for the production and (or) sale of vegetable oil (except cottonseed oil);
- turnover for the sale of meat (cattle, sheep, poultry), live animals (cattle and poultry) and their products from slaughter, potatoes and frozen fish, as well as their import into the country.
