According to the press service of the parliament, during the discussions it was noted that the current version of the Labor Code, adopted in 1995, does not correspond to modern realities, it does not take into account the active development of new, diverse forms of involving citizens in labor activity, and sufficient conditions for the widespread use of flexible working modes, which, in particular, allow employers to choose simpler forms of attracting additional workers to work.

A special part of the Labor Code in the new edition is devoted to individual institutions of labor law and includes new norms such as employment, individual labor relations, vocational training, retraining and advanced training of workers, peculiarities of labor regulation of certain categories of workers, protection of labor rights of workers, consideration of labor disputes.

In addition, the period of annual labor leave for employees will be increased from 15 days to 21 days. Then the minimum vacation period for employees will be extended to 27 days.

According to Article 134 of the current Labor Code, the annual basic leave is granted to employees with a duration of at least 15 working days.

It was noted that the adoption of the new edition of the Labor Code contributes to ensuring the interests of workers and employers, increasing their involvement in social interaction, the active development of new forms of involvement in labor activities, bringing the provisions of the Labor Code in line with international law, including those ratified by the Republic of Uzbekistan international treaties.
