Citizens of Uzbekistan earn more than 5 billion soums on cashback from STC
Among consumers, the possibility of receiving a cashback in the amount of 1% of the cost of purchased goods (services) is gaining popularity. In the first 14 days from the start of the implementation of measures to receive cashback, 401,604 checks with a QR code were registered, the total amount of cashback amounted to more than 5 billion soums.
This is explained both by the improvement of the tax discipline of entrepreneurs and the increased public control in the field of use of cash registers, the State Tax Committee (STC) reported.
At the same time, cases are repeatedly identified that discredit the implemented practice of returning cashback, such as deliberate distortion of information in checks, non-issuance of checks with a QR code, receiving cashback at the expense of other people’s checks and other situations that violate consumer rights. In particular, there are often cases when employees of retail outlets scan checks of online cash registers before buyers, by issuing copies (duplicates) of checks to them.
To comprehensively protect consumer rights and prevent illegal situations, the following mechanisms have been launched:
– upon first scanning, a check with a QR code is automatically registered under the phone number that is entered in the Soliq mobile application. When rescanning, the phone number to which this check was registered earlier is displayed;
– each citizen can register no more than 5 checks with a QR code per day from one outlet. When scanning the 6th check, a corresponding notification appears on the screen.
