Sand and dust storms of Aralkum yearly carry out up to 75 million tons of sand, dust and salt

Every year, sand and dust storms of the Aralkum carry from 15 to 75 million tons of sand, dust and salt to the expanses of Uzbekistan and other countries of Central Asia. This is stated in the World Bank study “The importance of landscape restoration in Uzbekistan in order to reduce sand and dust storms from the bottom of the Aral Sea”.
