Uzbekistan to present $200,000 to athletes who won gold at Paris Olympics
The Uzbek athletes, winners of the 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Paris, will be awarded $200,000 for a gold medal, $100,000 for a silver medal and $50,000 for a bronze medal.

The presidential decree āOn accelerating the preparations for the successful participation of Uzbek athletes in the next Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic Gamesā has been announced.
According to the document, prize-winners of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games and XVII Paralympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024 will be rewarded with a one-time cash prize in the following amounts:
⢠ for a gold medal ā $200 thousand;
⢠ for a silver medal ā $100 thousand;
⢠ for a bronze medal ā $50 thousand.
Expenditures will be covered from the state budget.
In preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, from March 1, 2022 to September 1, 2024, discounts will be introduced on transportation costs on interregional routes (rail and air tickets) to ensure the participation of national team members in sports competitions, training sessions held in the country.
The decree also instructed to prepare for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in LA.
It should be recalled that the Uzbek delegation finished the Tokyo Olympics in 32nd place with three gold and two bronze medals. The Uzbek government awarded the champions $200,000 and the bronze medalists ā $50,000. In addition, coaches of the winners, as well as all participants of the Olympics were awarded cash prizes.
