Draft law “On external labor migration” adopted in second reading

The bill strengthens the legal framework in the field of external labor migration at the legislative level, the norms of international documents on the rights of labor migrants will be applied in national legislation.

Also, in a single law, the procedure for organizing the labor activity of citizens outside the Republic of Uzbekistan and attracting foreign citizens to work in our country is systematized.

The bill defines the main directions of state policy in the field of external labor migration. According to the project, social support for citizens employed in accordance with the norms of the law, protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens engaged in temporary labor activities outside of Uzbekistan, as well as the procedure for the reintegration of citizens returning from labor migration will be systematized.

The adoption of the document will serve as social support for citizens, introduce modern information and communication technologies in the processes of external labor migration, help to keep records of labor migrants and ensure timely monitoring in this area.
