About 2,500 people died in road accidents last year
On April 5, a regular meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council was held in the Senate, UzA reports.
During the meeting, work, achievements and shortcomings in public procurement, healthcare and other areas were discussed, some figures were announced.
It was noted that in 2019, a total of 9,990 people were injured in 8,092 road accidents, of which 2,067 people died (mortality rate – 20.7%), and in 2020, 8,553 people were injured in 6,982 road accidents, 1,962 people died (mortality rate – 23%).
In 2021, 9,230 people were injured and 2,436 died in 10,001 road traffic accidents (mortality rate – 21%).
Previously, it became known in which districts of Tashkent most often road accidents occur.
In total, 1,073 traffic accidents occurred in the capital last year, 114 of them were fatal, 142 people died afterwards.
The largest number of traffic accidents occurred in Chilanzar, Yunusabad and Almazar districts. The factors that influenced were the population, the length of roads and a large number of registered vehicles, the fact that these areas connect the capital with the territory of the region, a large number of vehicles entering and leaving the city.
