More boys were born than girls over three months of 2022 – Statistics Committee
In January-March 2022, 203,670 babies were born in Uzbekistan. The figure increased by 13.4% compared to the same period last year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 104,777 of the babies born during the reporting period were boys and 98,893 – girls.
The highest number of births was registered in Samarkand region (24,265 people). The lowest birth rate was recorded in Syrdarya region (5,422 people).
The committee said the permanent population of the republic, as of April 1, reached 35,433,772.
