TOP-10 profitable and unprofitable state-owned enterprises in Uzbekistan announced
Uztransgaz once again topped the list of state-owned enterprises with the largest financial losses, ending 2021 with a loss of 2.5 trillion soums. The list also includes Bunyodkor and Pakhtakor football clubs, as well as Angren TPP and Yangi Angren TPP, which have been transferred to foreign companies.
The State Assets Management Agency has published an analysis of the financial statements of state-owned enterprises.
It was noted that today there are 2,117 state-owned enterprises in the republic. 347 of them were sold on condition of payment by installments.
The most affected enterprises with state participation
In 2021, 20 enterprises suffered a total loss of 6 trillion soums. The 10 most affected are:
• Uztransgaz JSC – 2.5 trillion soums;
• National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC – 2.1 trillion soums;
• Toshissiqsuvquvvati SUE – 534.3 billion soums;
• Yangi Angren TPP JSC – 304 billion soums;
• Toshshakhartranskhizmat JSC – 127.6 billion soums;
• Angren TPP JSC – 87.6 billion soums;
• Angren TPP SUE – 68.3 billion soums;
• Tashkent TPP – 53.6 billion soums;
• Uzavtotrans Servis LLC – 51.5 billion soums;
• FC Bunyodkor LLC – 37 billion soums.
Economist Otabek Bakirov noted that Angren and Yangi Angren TPPs were among the ten most affected enterprises, and that they had been transferred to the trust management of Central Asia Energy LLC. The company is owned by Gornie Raboti, a company registered in Kazakhstan.
The most profitable enterprises with state participation
Last year, the total profit of the 20 most profitable enterprises amounted to 23.7 trillion soums. The 10 highest earnings are:
• Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine – 10.6 trillion soums;
• Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine – 5.3 trillion soums;
• Uzbekneftegaz JSC – 3.3 trillion soums;
• Uzbekistan Metallurgical Combine JSC – 1.4 trillion soums;
• Navoiyazot JSC – 779.8 billion soums;
• Uzbektelecom JSC – 473.9 billion soums;
• Regional electricity networks – 400.3 billion soums;
• Ferganaazot JSC – 348.8 billion soums;
• Agroklaster LLC – 194.8 billion soums;
• UzEX JSC – 140.1 billion soums.
