Attention of the international community to the situation in Afghanistan is decreasing – Vladimir Norov
In his speech at the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov stressed that at present there is a decrease in the attention of the international community to the situation in Afghanistan.
“Meanwhile, the situation there remains difficult, due to the acute economic crisis and the humanitarian situation; challenges to regional security and stability persist,” Vladimir Norov said. “We believe that the international community should be responsible for the present and future of this country and take concrete measures aimed at continuing assistance in solving the most acute social problems in Afghanistan.”
Recently, Uzbekistan sent a humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan consisting of food, medicine and clothing
At the end of July this year, Tashkent will host the High-Level International Conference on Afghanistan.
“We invite you to take part in this important event in order to consolidate our efforts to resolve the Afghan problem,” Norov said.
