Eight citizens of Sri Lanka sentenced for trying to travel to London via Tashkent with fake passports
Citizens of Sri Lanka who tried to travel abroad through Tashkent with fake passports have been sentenced, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

Reportedly, eight Sri Lankan nationals were stopped by border guards when they tried to board a Tashkent-London flight using fake French and Italian passports.
The Tashkent Aviation Transport Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case under Articles 223 (illegal departure or entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan) and 228 (production, sale or use of forged documents, stamps and seals) of the Criminal Code.
All the lawbreakers have been charged and the case was sent to court for consideration. The Mirabad District Criminal Court sentenced the defendants.
