Acting FM Norov hosts EU Delegation Representative to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian
On May 25, acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov held talks with the head of the European Union delegation to Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adrian.
During the talks, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, as well as upcoming events in bilateral and regional formats, were discussed.
The European side positively assessed the intensification of ties with Uzbekistan observed in recent years in a wide range of areas of mutual interest. The effective functioning of joint interaction bodies, which contribute to strengthening cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, was noted.
The parties emphasized the importance of building up joint projects under the European Union strategy for Central Asia in such areas as digitalization, green economy, energy, transport, agriculture, environment and climate change.
The sides confirmed their readiness to organize in the city of Samarkand the “European Union - Central Asia” ministerial meeting on strengthening interconnectedness and sustainable development, as well as to carry out thorough preparatory work for it.
There was also an exchange of views on regional and international issues.
