Uzbekistan, Finland discuss strengthening cooperation in energy, ICT and textile industry
On May 28, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT) held a meeting with the Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Finland, Marja Liivala.

During the meeting, prospects for the development of Uzbek-Finnish cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, textile industry, ICT and healthcare were discussed.
The Finnish side expressed its readiness to continue active participation in the work of the Advisory Committee of the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region, as well as to attract additional funds from a number of donor organizations, financial institutions and private companies in Finland.
The proposal of the Uzbek side to hold international exhibitions and fairs in Uzbekistan and Finland was received with interest in order to stimulate direct business contacts, increase mutual trade and investment.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a more detailed dialogue on priority areas of partnership within the upcoming regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a business forum with the participation of business circles of the two countries.
