According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, Uzbek truckers successfully completed cargo transportation along the route “Uzbekistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan”.
Drivers who covered 2,760 km along the route “Tashkent – Termez – Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar – Karachi” delivered a cargo (frozen meat) to Tashkent from the port of Karachi in a week.
The Ministry of Transport also recalled that on March 26-27 this year, a meeting of a trilateral working group on transport issues was held in Termez with the participation of representatives of the largest transport and logistics companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Pakistan, the international association of road carriers, as well as transport and customs authorities.
At the meeting, a plan of specific measures was determined on the problems arising in the process of international freight transportation by road through the territory of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and issues of their solution.
“As a result of trilateral efforts, today the full functioning of this transport corridor, the delivery of goods in the shortest possible time, and the safe arrival at their destination are ensured,” the report reads.
