Number of convicts in Uzbekistan exceeded 28 thousand for six months of 2022
In January-June 2022, criminal courts considered 29,783 criminal cases against 38,077 persons.
According to the information service of the Supreme Court, 468 people were acquitted and rehabilitated.
The number of convicts amounted to 28,736 people, of which 8,929 people were sentenced to imprisonment, 19,070 people were sentenced to other types of punishment, and 737 people were sentenced to probation.
Of those convicted, 25,564 are men, 5,945 are women, 11,695 are young people (including 971 minors), 854 are over 60 years old.
As a result of the effective use of the institution of reconciliation, 7,785 people were released from criminal liability.
Punishment not related to deprivation of liberty was imposed on 4,238 persons who compensated for material damage in the amount of more than 633 billion soums.
11,696 criminal cases were considered at field court hearings, which is about 39.3% of all cases.
