FM Vladimir Norov hosts OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov hosted today the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
At the meeting, the parties noted that in recent years, the interaction of Uzbekistan with the OSCE and its institutions has significantly intensified and reached a qualitatively new level.
“The High Commissioner highly appreciated the policy pursued in the republic to ensure interethnic harmony and tolerance, as well as to expand cultural and educational ties with foreign countries. It was especially stressed that the policy of good neighborliness of Uzbekistan in Central Asia plays a positive role in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples and ethnic groups of the region,” the MFA said in a statement.
Kairat Abdrakhmanov noted that Uzbekistan has created all the necessary conditions for education, work, the manifestation of their creative abilities and the potential of representatives of all nations and nationalities. He welcomed that strengthening the atmosphere of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance in society is one of the priority goals for the implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.
The parties expressed their readiness for the progressive development of relations on all issues of mutual interest.
