Cash prizes awarded to champions of the Chess Olympiad
During the event held at the Ministry of Sports, each of the five champions was awarded cash prizes of 600 million soums in accordance with the presidential decree.
Prizes were awarded to members of the national team of Uzbekistan, who won the 44th World Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India.
The award was given in cash, in new 200,000 soum bills. The awarding ceremony was held in the building of the Sports Ministry.
According to the ministerial press service, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Sports M. Ismailov, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, Chairman of the Chess Federation A. Sadullaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Kh. Turdaliyev and champion chess players - Nodirbek Yakubboyev, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindorov, Shamsiddin Vokhidov and Jakhongir Vokhidov, as well as their parents.

It should be recalled that the Uzbekistan men’s national team was the team that did not lose in any round at the Chess Olympiad.
Members of the team were awarded the honorary title “Uzbekiston iftikhori” by presidential decree. They were presented Equinox cars as a presidential gift.
Members of the women’s national team of Uzbekistan, who took the 31st place among 162 teams in the competition, were awarded the “Kelajak bunyodkori” medal.
For information, Uzbekistan will host the 46th World Chess Olympiad in 2026.
