Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan hosts outgoing US Ambassador
On August 30, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with US Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country.
According to the Foreign Ministry, at the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the United States in the Afghan direction, in particular, the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
“The ambassador highly praised the efforts of Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan,” the statement said.
Daniel Rosenblum especially noted the successful holding of the Tashkent International Conference on Afghanistan on July 25-26. It was emphasized that this forum has become an important platform for intensifying international efforts to ensure stability not only in Afghanistan, but also in the region as a whole.
