Electric train services to be launched to cities of Tashkent region
It is planned to launch a modern electric train service to the cities of Bekabad, Almalyk, Chirchik, Angren, Yangiyul and Akhangaran. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this at a meeting held in Tashkent region.
The head of state noted that if the available opportunities are effectively used, it is possible to bring the industry to a completely new level in the region.
Officials were instructed to allocate 250 billion soums for infrastructure provision of industrial zones, to organize deep processing of kaolin raw materials in Angren, to establish a cluster for the production of porcelain and ceramic products, to launch a cross-border trade zone in Bekabad district, and to implement the program of turning 100 local enterprises into exporters.
Based on the mentioned problems and suggestions, the head of the state instructed to adopt a two-week program for the repair of internal roads in 840 mahallas, in 579 – drinking and sewage water, in 589 – electricity and gas supply, in 396 – schools, kindergartens and polyclinics.
In particular, 150 billion soums will be allocated for the projects that received the most votes within the initiative budget, Asian Development Bank’s $185 million drinking and wastewater project in Tashkent region will start its 3rd phase, 155 billion soums will be allocated from the state budget and 70 billion soums from the additional local budget – for the repair of internal roads.
The President emphasized that the time has come to launch a modern electric train service to the cities of Bekabad, Almalyk, Chirchik, Angren, Yangiyul and Akhangaran. He instructed the Minister of Transport to introduce a relevant draft decision.
