Uzbekistan’s EV imports on the rise
In January-September 2022, Uzbekistan imported 1,629 electric vehicles from abroad. This is considerably more than the amount imported during the last four years combined.

In the last 5 years, the republic imported a total of 2,620 electric cars from 17 countries for $71.8 million.
The number of imported EVs by year:
- In 2018 - 13
- In 2019 - 39
- In 2020 - 130
- In 2021 - 809
- January-September 2022 - 1,629
It is also noteworthy that over the nine months of 2022, Uzbekistan produced nearly 230 thousand passenger cars, with Cobalt being the most produced car.
