Daily electricity use in Tashkent drops by a quarter after street lighting restrictions

On November 16, street lighting networks in Tashkent were temporarily switched to a limited consumption mode at night.

According to the press service of "Toshshaharnur", this measure allowed to reduce daily electricity consumption by 25%. Thus, the average daily use dropped to 87,800 kWh from 115,900 kWh in October.

As a result, 28,100 kWh of electricity per day (843,000 kWh per month) is saved. For comparison, this amount is equal to the average monthly consumption of 4,400 households in the country.

It is noted that in Tashkent, the average daily consumption of electricity by consumers is 25.7 million kWh. Street lighting consumes 111.1 thousand kWh per day, which is 0.4% of the total electricity use.
