Gofurjon Mirzayev resigns as khokim of Syrdarya region, becomes presidential adviser
Gofurjon Mirzayev has been working as the khokim of Syrdarya region since 2016.
By the relevant decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Gofurjon Mirzayev was appointed to the position of adviser to the President on issues of public service, communication with the population and coordination of activities of local authorities. In this regard, he was released from the position of khokim of Syrdarya region.
Gofurjon Mirzayev was born in 1964 in the Fergana region. In 1990, he graduated from the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, and in 2000 – from the Tashkent State University of Economics.
He started working at a wheat processing plant in Bagdad district, Fergana region.
In 2003, he started working as an inspector in the Office of the President of Uzbekistan and worked there until 2016.
On December 15, 2016, he was appointed as the khokim of Syrdarya region replacing Oybek Ashirmatov.
