Nordwind Airlines plans to launch flights to Uzbekistan

The company intends to launch flights from Perm to at least two cities – Fergana and Samarkand.

The air carrier submitted a request to the Federal Air Transport Agency for permission to operate flights to Uzbekistan, Kommersant writes.

In the summer, Nordwind Airlines plans to fly three times a week on the Perm-Fergana route. In winter, the company will launch similar flights from Perm to Samarkand, also three times a week.

In addition, the Russian airline Utair is expanding its route network in Uzbekistan. In April last year, Utair launched flights from Tashkent to Tyumen and Surgut, and in June it began flying between Moscow and Samarkand. Since July, it has also been flying on the Tashkent-Ufa route. Starting January this year, the airline has launched flights from Samara to Samarkand, and recently, it launched weekly flights on the Surgut-Fergana route.
