Uzbekistan’s population density on the rise

According to the preliminary data of the Statistics Agency, as of January 1, 2023, the population density in Uzbekistan was 80.2 people per sq. km.

This is up by 1.6 people compared to the same period last year.

Reportedly, the figure was reasonably lower three decades ago. In 1991, when Uzbekistan gained its independence, the population density in the country was 46.1 people per sq. km.
