3.5 trillion soums to be allocated to improve electricity supply in Tashkent city

By the end of 2023, the capacities of the first stage of the two solar photoelectric power plants under construction in the Yukori and Urta Chirchik districts will be put into operation.

The presidential decree “On measures to provide consumers with energy resources in Tashkent” was signed.

To cover the additional electricity needs of the city of Tashkent:

•  The first stage (100 MW) of the construction project of a solar photoelectric power station with a capacity of 400 MW in the Urta Chirchik district (Tashkent region) with the participation of ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia) will be completed;
•  With the participation of China Gezhouba Group Investment Company Co. LTD (China), the capacities of the first stage (100 MW) of the project to build a solar photoelectric power station with a capacity of 700 MW in the Yukori Chirchik district (Tashkent region) will be commissioned by the end of this year.

It is also planned to carry out the following tasks by the end of this year:

•  Construction of 5 110 kW substations with a total capacity of 664 MVA and 49.6 km long 35 kW and 110 kW power transmission lines in Yunusabad, Shaykhantakhur, Mirzo Ulugbek, Yashnabad and Yangikhayot districts;
•  Increasing their transmission capacity to 179 MVA by reconstructing 4 substations in Yunusabad, Mirzo Ulugbek, Almazar and Mirabad districts;
•  Replacement of physically obsolete 7.5 km long 35 kV and 41.7 km long 110 kV power transmission lines with modern cables and wires.

A total of 3.5 trillion soums will be allocated for the implementation of this project, in particular, 566 billion soums of private funds of Uzbekistan National Electric Networks JSC, Navoiy MMC JSC, Almalyk MMC JSC, Uzmetkombinat JSC, Uzavtosanoat JSC, 199 billion soums of private funds of Regional Electric Networks JSC and 2 7 trillion soums of commodity loans attracted by Regional Electric Networks JSC.
