President: Uzbekistan is interested in becoming a member of the WTO as soon as possible
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the requirements of the World Trade Organization are fully compatible with the content of the reforms in Uzbekistan.
The second Tashkent International Investment Forum has started at the International Congress Center. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is delivering a speech at its plenary session.
It was noted that the next important steps were taken to liberalize foreign trade in Uzbekistan.
Customs duties on more than 7,000 raw materials and goods needed by investors were canceled.
A simplified processing procedure was introduced in the customs area.
In order to bring the environment of foreign trade and competition to a new level, to enter new markets, Uzbekistan accelerated the work on joining the World Trade Organization.
“I would like to emphasize separately that the requirements of the World Trade Organization are fully compatible with the content of our reforms, and we are interested in becoming a member of this prestigious organization as soon as possible,” the President said.
Negotiations with member countries and harmonization of national legislation with the rules of the World Trade Organization are now in full swing.
