Agreements on construction of four power stations signed as part of Tashkent investment forum

Agreements were signed with companies of three countries on the construction of 4 power plants at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported. 

According to the agreements, the Turkish company Cengiz Enerji will build a steam-gas power plant with a capacity of 400 MW in Jizzakh region. The value of the transaction is $30 million.

It should be noted that Cengiz Enerji had previously built and commissioned 240 MW thermal power plants in Kibray district of Tashkent region and 220 MW thermal power plants in Khovos district of Syrdarya. The company also planned to build another 450 MW thermal power plant in Syrdarya.

Agreements on the construction of two solar photoelectric power stations were also signed with the Chinese company China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment within the framework of the Tashkent investment forum. One FES to be built in Bukhara region and the other in Kashkadarya will have a capacity of 500 MW each. The value of the projects is estimated at $500 million.

At the same time, Gezhouba Group is implementing a project to build a 700 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in the Upper Chirchik district of the Tashkent region. The capacities of the 1st stage of the project (100 MW) are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2023.

The Ministry of Natural Resources concluded an agreement with the Korean company Sejin G&E So Ltd on a $55 million investment project. Within the framework of the project, electricity will be produced due to the processing of waste gas generated in landfills.

The project, designed to produce up to 16 MW of electricity, will be implemented at the waste landfill in Akhangaran district of Tashkent region. This will be the only station in Central Asia that will produce electricity from waste gas.
