Feasibility study of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project conducted
The project is estimated at 3-5 billion dollars.
The financial model of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will be approved during the visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Beijing on May 17-19.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov at the joint meeting of the “Ata Jurt” parliamentary faction and the “Mekenchil” group of deputies.
According to him, the technical-economic basis of the project is ready, and its adaptation is underway.
“It is known that the railway will be narrow until Kazarman, then it will be widened. It will be connected to the Uzbek part of the railway. The cost of the project is estimated at 3-5 billion dollars. 57 tunnels will be built in the territory of Kyrgyzstan alone,” he said.
It should be noted that on September 14, 2022, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan and the State Committee for Development and Reform of China signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
