23-year-old man from Uzbekistan killed in war in Ukraine
He was forcibly mobilized from a Russian prison for the war in Ukraine.
23-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan Sh. Tojiboev was killed while participating in hostilities in Ukraine, the State Security Service reported.
It is noted that the young man went to work in Russia, opened a café, and managed to buy a car. He was caught with heroin in his car while taking a person to the Russian-Ukrainian border. After that, Sh. Tojiboev was imprisoned in Russia. While serving his sentence, he was “mobilized” for the war in Ukraine. He died there and his body was sent to Uzbekistan.
The deceased’s mother laughed at him because he did not serve in the army and did not know how to hold a gun.
“I don’t perform any military service, I don’t kill people, mother, they forced me even though I resisted,” the mother quoted her son as saying.
The woman confirmed that her son’s corpse was brought to Uzbekistan.
“I wish that no parent had such a day. Take care of your children, don’t allow them to go abroad for work, they will be slandered,” she appealed to other parents.
When the war in Ukraine started, the Russian private military company “Wagner” began to recruit soldiers among those sentenced to prison terms. They promised the convicts that after 6 months of “serving” in the war zone, they would be pardoned and released. Allegedly, not only Russians were among the recruits, but also foreigners.
According to Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, recruitment to participate in an armed conflict or military operations on the territory of another country for financial benefit or any other personal benefit is punishable by imprisonment for 5 to 10 years.
According to Article 154-1 of the Criminal Code, the entry of a citizen of Uzbekistan into the military service, security, police, military justice bodies or other similar bodies of foreign countries is punishable by a fine of up to 300 BCAs or by correctional labor for up to 3 years.
If a citizen of Uzbekistan is hired to serve in the bodies of foreign countries, he will be punished by restriction of liberty from 3 to 5 years or deprivation of liberty from 3 to 5 years.
