Uzbekistan declares 5-day public holiday for Eid al-Adha
The President of Uzbekistan has signed a decree "On the celebration of Eid al-Adha".
The document says that the first day of Eid al-Adha will fall on Wednesday, June 28, and it will be widely celebrated across the country.
In order to create favorable conditions for people to celebrate the holiday with their families, additional days off have been announced. According to the presidential decree, all employees, regardless of the type of work week, will have June 29-30 and July 1 as non-working days.
Thus, people will have non-business days on the following dates:
- June 28, Wednesday — Eid al-Adha holiday;
- June 29, Thursday — an additional day off for all employees, regardless of the type of work week;
- June 30, Friday — an additional day off for all employees, regardless of the type of work week;
- July 1, Saturday — an additional day off for employees of a 6-day work week;
- July 2, Sunday — a holiday according to the calendar.
