Concerns of residents and businessmen about exchange rate changes increase sharply
According to the results of the survey conducted in June, the population's inflation expectations were 13.3%, and the expectations of business entities were 13.2%. Both categories cited exchange rate fluctuations and increases in wages and benefits as the most pressing factors on prices.
The Central Bank published data on inflation expectations of the population and business entities for June.
According to him, the population's inflation expectations decreased by 0.4 percentage point and made 13.3%.
The population believes that the following factors will affect future price increases:
• exchange rate changes (50%);
• increase in wages and benefits (40%);
• presence of monopoly in the markets (38%);
• artificial increase of prices (34%).
Inflationary expectations of business entities
According to the results of June, the expectations of the respondent business entities regarding price growth for the next 12 months amounted to 13.2% and decreased by 0.3% compared to the previous month.
Business representatives believe that the following factors influence the price increase:
• exchange rate fluctuations (55%);
• increase in wages and benefits (39%);
• increase in prices of fuel products and transport services (32%).

Also, in June, the level of inflation perceived by the population was 12.9%. In terms of regions, the highest level of inflation was felt in the city of Tashkent - 17%, Bukhara - 13.5%, and in the Samarkand region - 13.3%, and the lowest level was in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 10.7%, Jizzakh - 11% and Surkhandarya region - 11.7%.
Goods and services whose prices have increased significantly by consumers:
• sugar and confectionery products - 37.1% (as a percentage of total respondents);
• meat and dairy products - 33.4%;
• construction goods - 33.1%;
• drugs - 24.1%.
