“Officials cut down more than a thousand trees in Fergana” – PGO
Officials of “Bagdodmakhsussuvpudrat” LLC and others cut down 1,213 trees on the banks of the Big Andijan canal. According to the studies of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) and the Ministry of Ecology, the damage to the flora is estimated at 4.6 billion soums.

Cases of violation of the moratorium requirements were found in the study conducted in Fergana region in cooperation with the PGO and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change. In particular, in January-February of this year, officials of “Bagdodmakhsussuvpudrat” LLC and others deliberately cut down 1,213 trees growing on the banks of the Big Andijan canal in the Norin-Fergana irrigation system. As a result, it was determined that the flora suffered damage in the amount of 4.6 billion soums.
In addition, a criminal case was initiated by the Fergana regional prosecutor’s office under Article 198 of the Criminal Code (damage or destruction of fields, forests, trees or other plants). Currently, the internal affairs body is conducting preliminary investigations.
The PGO has established control over the investigation of this criminal case.
