The opening of an agro-logistic complex is planned in the Jizzakh region, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia reports.

On August 16, in Moscow, representatives of the economic ministries of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed the prospects for the work of the Agroexpress project. In particular, the parties agreed to increase mutual deliveries of products using accelerated rail transport, as well as to optimize their cost.

At the meeting, Russian Deputy Minister Dmitry Volvach shared plans to open an agro-logistics complex in Jizzakh and launch deliveries from other regions of the two countries.

“Today, we are working on the possibility of organizing deliveries not only in the direction of Tashkent-Moscow, but also from other regions of Uzbekistan and Russia. In October, it is planned to open an agro-logistic complex in Jizzakh with a capacity of up to 810 thousand tons of products per year. It is located in the zone of consolidation of agricultural products,” Volvach said.

In addition to Agroexpress, about 60 more projects in the field of interregional cooperation are being worked out in the portfolio of the two countries.
