Uzbekistan, South Korea strengthen cooperation in ecological field
In order to implement the agreements reached at the highest level between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, on August 23-28, a South Korean delegation headed by the President of the Korean Institute of Ecological Industry and Technology (KEITI) Choi Hyun Jin visited our country, a Kun.uz correspondent reports.

According to the information service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan, on the first day of the visit, Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Jusipbek Kazbekov met with KEITI President Choi Hyun Jin.
During the dialogue, the achieved level of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint grants, improving the system of solid waste management in the Jizzakh region, strengthening the capacity of Uzbek specialists, investment projects to develop joint scientific programs and projects were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties considered the feasibility study of the investment project "Integrated waste management in the Jizzakh region", which is expected to be financed by the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the South Korean government. The opinions and comments of experts from the Ministry of Ecology were heard and an agreement was reached on the joint development of a draft document.
As part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Korea, the issues of implementing a grant project worth $6.6 million to improve the management of the landfill in the city of Jizzakh, holding exhibitions of South Korean environmental technologies are also being discussed. It is also planned to visit landfills, water treatment and sewerage facilities in Tashkent and Jizzakh regions.
