Makhsustrans: About 3 tons of bread are thrown into the garbage every day in Tashkent
About 3 tons of bakery products are thrown into the garbage every day in Tashkent. UzA reported this with reference to Ismail Sagdullayev, chief inspector of the Makhsustrans production department.
According to him, at the moment, the most frequently thrown away products in the capital are bread and food products. Every year, these products are thrown into the trash.
“If 2,300 tons of waste are collected in the city of Tashkent in one day, about 3 tons of it is bread,” he said.
In April 2022, the Ministry of Justice reported that 2 tons of bakery products were thrown into the garbage every day in the capital.
At that time, the Ministry of Justice proposed the introduction of tax credits for charitable activities, the development of food sharing platforms (distributing products that are usually close to the expiration date) and food banks, as well as the improvement of the system for determining the expiration date of products.
