Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov becomes gold and bronze medalist at World Weightlifting Championship

The Uzbekistan national weightlifting team won its first medals at the World Championship in Saudi Arabia.

Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov, competing in the weight category up to 81 kg, excelled in the snatch with a result of 164 kg. In the clean and jerk, Muhammadkodir lifted a weight of 188 kg and, based on the sum of two exercises with a result of 352 kg, won a bronze medal.

1. Oscar Martinez (Italy) – 356 (163+193) kg;
2. Rahmat Abdulloh (Indonesia) – 354 (145+209) kg;
3. Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov (Uzbekistan) – 352 (164+188) kg.
