President signs the law on state border
On September 13, the law O‘RQ-868 “On the State Border of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was signed by the president, the Ministry of Justice reported.
According to the law, the determination and change of the state border is carried out by the chambers of Oliy Majlis.
The border of the state is marked by clearly visible border markers.
According to the law, the State Security Service implements the unified state policy in the field of guarding and protecting the state border.
Crossing the state border is carried out as follows:
• on land, in border rivers, lakes and other water bodies – in designated places for crossing the State border of international railways, highways, river traffic and other traffic routes;
• in the sky area – at the crossings of the State border of international highways or on air corridors designated for these purposes.
When persons and vehicles move from the State border to highway and railway crossing points or in the opposite direction, the followings are prohibited:
• changing the specified direction;
• carrying out the release of persons to vehicles, loading of goods and unloading of persons and goods from vehicles;
• take-off, landing or reception of any flying machines and unmanned aerial vehicles.
In the border region, additional regime restrictions and prohibitions may be imposed on:
• entry of foreign persons into the border region;
• entering the areas where economic activities and other activities are carried out;
• access of watercraft to border rivers, lakes and other bodies of water.
Permits for entering (exiting) transfer points to persons engaged in economic activities and other activities are issued by the Border Guards or the appropriate organization under the Ministry of Transport.
This law shall enter into force on the date of its official publication.
